Weekend at Mc Donald’s

We decided to go on a long drive last weekend, and heard high recommendations of Mc Donald’s outlet, located on the Yamuna expressway. This famous expressway connects Delhi to Agra, with various eateries to explore, during the ride. Thus loaded with all the precautionary measures, proper masks, hand sanitizers, small soap, and gloves, we headed towards the eatery.

Before heading out I did my bit of research and after checking the various hygiene measures, adopted by different brands, we shortlisted  Mc Donald’s. The key reason behind our choice was the strict quality checks implemented by them on each step.

The burger giant in the North & East has implemented 50 plus process changes across its take-out and dine in delivery services, which has resulted in ensuring the safety of both employees and the customers. All the products go through comprehensive and stringent checks before it is presented to the customer. But the most comforting factor is the knowledge, the brand can trace all the ingredients used in the preparation of their food, right from the farm to the table. I believe in the COVID times most of us are bit paranoid, and we have reasons to support our recent obsession with the word “Hygiene”.

At no point in time neither the crew member nor the runner, touch the food with bare hands. The orders are properly sealed and adhering to the social distancing norms, the packages are left at the pre-designated place. The runner only leaves once we have retrieved the order.

Coming back to the road trip, we were soon at the Mc Donald’s takeaway. I was glad to notice the employees ensured no touching policy. There were proper sanitizers present in various locations. The crew member who was taking the order was wearing protective gear consisting of masks and gloves. I was pleasantly surprised when through Aarogya Setu App, they tried keeping an eye on the customer’s health.

BIG HUG CAMPAIGN

One of the crew members informed us about the “Big Hug Burger Campaign” launched by Mc Donald’s, in which two patties are hugging each other. I was curious why such a unique campaign? My doubts were promptly answered, due to social distancing, we couldn’t hug our loved ones. Thus the campaign showcased people’s desire to hug their loved ones.

Soon a menu was handed over to us which highlighted the double patty variants. They were introduced in its all-time favorites McAlooTikki, McVeggie, McChicken, McSpicy Paneer, McSpicy Chicken, Filet-O-Fish and Dosa Masala burgers. These burgers were pretty friendly to the pocket, they started at an incredible price of INR 59 (plus applicable taxes).

Dosa Masala Burger (Double Patty)

ORDERS

I ordered the Masala Dosa burger and it was one of the best food choices, I made during the trip. Masala Dosa Burger is like America got married to our South India, a foodie can get both western and Indian taste in one go. Trust me the patty of the burger tastes like dosa, due to the use of tangy rasam sauce. One cannot have a single burger, however, filling it is due to its delicious taste.

My son ordered Mc Chicken Burger, it was fresh, juicy, tangy in taste and typically melt in the mouth. The quantity is sufficient, one Mc Chicken Burger with 2 patties, is like a small meal.

Next time whenever you visit a Mc Donald’s outlet, do try out the double patty variants.
