Grooming is a compulsory part of everyone’s life but most of the time we take it lightly, especially if you are not a member of the fairer sex. Women are much more conscious about their skin health, but men consider it a “womanly thing”. They are considered tougher than their female counterparts, and this ‘toxic masculinity’ has taken its toll on their grooming too. Though recent times have witnessed an increased consciousness among males around grooming. Probably that’s why one can see more salons catering to men and also an increase in the cosmetics targeted towards them. One can find face wash, herbal shaving creams, ayurvedic aftershaves, and many more products, gracing the shelves.

Male skin on average is approximately 20% thicker than female skin. It contains more collagen and has a tighter, firmer appearance. But still, even males should ensure less application of chemicals on the skin, and adopting Ayurvedic products. They are considered best for skin problems, due to fewer or no side effects. Also, Ayurvedic skin routines and therapies are the oldest, present in the field of medicine.

Let’s throw light on 5 products that are necessary for a men’s skincare routine, and should be a part of their grooming kit.

  1. Ayurvedic Facial Creams- The facial creams are the first thing to go for if you are planning to start the facial care routine. These Ayurvedic creams, not only deeply moisturizes the skin, but also improve elasticity and firmness. They further help in controlling collagen depletion, which leads to the thinning of the skin with age.
  2. Ayurvedic Shaving Cream- Shaving and trimming of facial hairs is an important part of men’s grooming. These herbal shaving creams assist in purifying and refreshing the skin, resulting in the cooling and tightening of pores. Shaving creams also help in reducing skin irritations after the shave. The Ayurvedic shaving creams generally contain herbs like sandalwood, turmeric, Jojoba, Aloe Vera, etc, which are good for the skin.
  3. Ayurvedic After Shave Lotion- After shave lotions help in reducing the itching and rashes on your skin from the steel blade, which tends to exfoliate the skin and might damage pores. The lotion tones the skin and provides a cool effect. Go for Ayurvedic aftershave lotions, they are generally free from any chemicals which have side effects.
  4. Ayurvedic Facial Oil- In Ayurvedic practices, oily substances are given immense importance. They can be used to get smooth, soft, and clear skin. These oils have the ability to enhance skin texture and treat irritation on the skin caused by dust, cold wind, and shaving.
  5. Ayurvedic Acne Creams- Many males face the problem of ‘acne’. They are hard to get rid of and when punctured leave a permanent mark on the skin. Ayurveda has a solution, which not only helps in reducing but also stops the acne problem on your face. They use safe, plant-derived acids (Salicylic Acid and Allantoin), instead of the synthetic variants and chemicals which are harmful to the skin in long term.

Ayurvedic Shaving Cream

Recently I came across Vicco Turmeric shaving cream and immensely liked it. Vicco is already a trusted name in the field of Ayurvedic products. The company is in existence for more than 60 years, and have proved themselves numerous time.

The Ayurvedic Shaving Cream from the Vicco Laboratories contained turmeric and sandalwood. We all know turmeric helps in healing and brings a glow to the skin. Whereas, the sandalwood cools the skin after the shave. For those of you who are not much a fan of sandalwood, can opt for a -no sandalwood oil variant. There are two saving creams present from the brand Vicco Turmeric Shaving Cream- S and Vicco Turmeric Shaving Cream (WSO).  Vicco Turmeric Skin cream or WSO creams are a proven solution to the pimple problem. Apply them in the night, constant usage can immensely improve the skin texture in the long run.

Try out a few of these Ayurvedic products in order to get better skin in daily life. Also, they are free from chemicals, which make them environmentally and skin-friendly. Our ancient medical system has a lot to offer, but we have neglected it for a long time. It is time to turn towards natural and healthy products to live a happy life.
