If you are a traveler and want to explore everything that nature has to offer, man has ever made but, reluctant to move because your pocket does not allow you to do so and have work promises to complete then, we have something for you-North-East India.

Luckily, before the pandemic, I was able to visit the beautiful city of Gangtok and Darjeeling in the month of December. The cities are too beautiful to be captured on camera, the experiences that I had can only be relived in my memory, not in sentences and the words cannot portray the scenic observations that I saw from my eyes. But, here are some of the most pleasing locations that I was able to seize in my camera for you guys. These are the glimpses of the trip that started from Gangtok, Sikkim, and ended in Darjeeling, West Bengal.

ZOOLOGICAL PARK, DARJEELING

This photo is taken from the parking in front of the zoological park of Darjeeling. The view makes you feel so small in comparison to nature. The place makes you stay here all day long without your ‘social media check-ins’. On the other hand, in the zoo, you can have a firsthand experience of some of the rarest animals like the Bengal Tiger, Red Panda, Snow Leopard.

GORKHA WAR MEMORIAL

Take a toy train ride and get off at Gorkha War Memorial which has a park and too many hawkers to buy a souvenir for your loved ones not in Darjeeling with you.

TEESTA RIVER

Rafting at the Teesta river in Gangtok and West Bengal border was the most adventurous thing that we did on this trip. The water was very cold as it was evening and the temperature had suddenly fallen down. We were reluctant to go on the boat but did it anyway for making the trip memorable.

TSONGMO LAKE

Tsongmo Lake in Gangtok is a great tourist place to visit with your friends and family. The place has a very positive vibe and the shopkeepers here are very friendly. Also, you can eat the world’s hottest noodles here.

We had done this circuit a few years back, so all the pleasant memories came flooding right back. We visited Darjeeling, Peling, Gangtok, Nathula Pass, and Kalimpong. It is a lovely circuit. We loved Tsomgo lake which looks so enchanting. We yearn to go back there as there is so much left to experience.
