Delhi definitely keeps you on feet and I believe this is true for any metro life. Ensuring, that we tick off the major items from the daily to-do list before we hit the bed, often takes a toll on the self. Though I believe that the most important thing in life is to take care of yourself, still at times I am unable to do justice to self. Thus I decided to go for a pampering session and what better way to pamper self, then opting for good spa therapy, it relaxes me completely.

After a relatively hectic week, I headed to The Metropolitan Hotel and Spa, located in CP near Bangla Sahib, for a relaxing Abhyanga session. Now Neoveda Spa is one of my favorites, the masseurs are well trained and the massages are very effective. I have tried there Kalari massage, it not only relaxed me but also gave me relief from joint inflammation. This time I decided to try out Abhyanga massage, have heard a lot about health benefits of this particular therapy.

Abhyanga is an ayurvedic form of massage, that fills one with a deep feeling of warmth, love, stability, and nourishment. Though Ayurveda has prescribed Abhyanga massages daily as it relieves doshas and removes the toxins from the body. Apart from the beauty aspect, this has many health and wellness benefits.

Ayurvedic Abhyanga at Neo Veda Spa

Before going for the therapy I went for a sauna session, though it is not necessary. I prefer it because the body pores open up helping the oil to seep through the skin. I told the masseur in advance the points where I wanted her to be gentle and the points where extra pressure needed to be applied. The sophisticated treatment begins with a foot cleansing ritual, before a massage with hot ayurvedic herbal oil is poured all over the body. After 5 minutes once the oil was absorbed by the skin, the masseur applied elongated sweeping movements to spread the oil along the whole body. She applied even pressure with the help of palm and fingers.

She massaged my arms, back, and legs with long strokes, on the joints she applied smaller strokes. I was in a state of bliss, the masseur applied more oil and time, where nerve endings were concentrated like soles of feet, palms, etc. The best part was head massage, she gently applied oil on the roots and massaged my head in a circular motion. Not before long I dozed off and woke up refreshed.

Honey and Sesame Body Glow

After Abhyanga, I opted for honey and Sesame body glow pack. This invigorating body treatment enjoys an age-old reputation as skin healers, softeners and moisturizers. The principal ingredients are used in conjunction with each other. The ground sesame seed exfoliates, the sesame oil softens while the honey promotes new cell growth.

The result of the pack is naturally glowing soft and healthy skin. I will definitely recommend this pack, as we are living in the age of rush, pollution, toxins and adultered food.

Often the skin doesn’t get the necessary nutrition, making it lusterless. We need to regularly opt for home remedies or ayurvedic packs for skin rejuvenation.

But if you don’t have time then Neo Veda Spa is a place for you to visit.
