The festival of colours is here and we can totally sense the excitement in the air. Many of us, especially the kids, are already prepping up to collect colours, get the music ready and let’s not forget the thandai and sweets. And its not just us, even Bollywood has pulled all stops from on-screen celebrations, giving us goals to match with our own Holi parties. But which are these movies? So, while you are in the Holi mood and building your watchlist for the day, let’s have a look at some of the most iconic Holi moments in Bollywood over the years.

Krishna Aur Kans (2012)

Sequence – “The Entire Movie”

The first movie in this list had to be the story of Krishna, thanks to whom, we celebrate this joyous festival of Holi. It would be safe to assume that most of us love animated movies. So, when it comes to telling the epic story of Krishna, this movie is a great watch. Among other reasons to watch Krishna Aur Kans online, the movie also features a fun Holi song to further get you in the Holi mood. So enjoy!

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017)

Sequence – ‘Gori Tu Latth Maar’  song

Holi is all about having a playful vibe and colours. In this song from the 2017 blockbuster, we see the colours of love explode with colourful visuals. With the Lathmar Holi as the backdrop, the sweet fights between Keshav (Akshay) and Jaya (Bhumi Pednekar) is a treat to watch. The song embodies the playful and joyous spirit of Holi with a dose of small-town romance in the best way possible.

Raanjhanaa (2013)

Sequence – ‘Tum Tak’ song

Holi in Banarasi is something that has a special vibe of its own. But here, we shall be talking about how Banaras’s Holi was shown in Raanjhanaa. The Holi festivities are a part of the ‘Tum Tak’ song sequences wherein we not only see the fun and frolic that Dhanush’s character Kundan has with his friends, but we also see his romantic side in the colourful backdrop. Simply put, it is a treat to watch.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2012)

Sequence – ‘Balam Pickari’ song

This chartbuster has been the most recent addition to our playlists during Holi parties. From the music to its lyrics, one truly feel the fun, infectious energy of the song. Same is the case with the visuals. I mean, Ranbir and Deepika dancing on the small lanes, smeared with color, I think I need not say more about why people love that now. This sequence was the millennial version of Holi in all its glory.

Silsila (1981)

Sequence – ‘Rang Barse’ Song

This song continues to play at every Holi party. This is a testament to the popularity of the song. Even in the movie, the song captures the sense of playfulness and merry mood that people have in real life. So, though it is a Bollywood song, the picturization is pretty much spot-on. Also, Amitabh Bachchan energy in the song is something that must be revisited.

Kati Patang (1971)

Sequence – ‘Aaj Na Chodenge’ Song

Another Holi classic, this song too keep the fun quotient high and has Rajesh Khanna in his prime. The massive sequence with colours, people and energy that gives you goosebumps, this song will keep the Holi spirit high within you. Also, we love the placement of the song within the film’s conflict.

That was all from our end. Are there any movies that you would include in this list? Let us know in the comments.
