Trust Me Not is written by Ankita Verma Datta and published by Jaico Publishers.

This story shows a close nexus between business, politics and PR world (Public Relations).  Many stories have been written highlighting businessmen and politicians nexus. But this is the first time that the role of Public Relations, lobbying, media selling, manipulation of news have been highlighted. Ankita seems to have good knowledge, of the ways of Indian media. The author has picked up a complex topic, but have weaved a beautiful story around it. I was pleasantly surprised, that all the characters have been well merged with the plot. Nothing seems out of place.

Reeva Rai is offered a prestigious position in PR agency. But she was unaware of the fact, that she has to work in close coordination with Kunaal Kabi, the enigmatic billionaire, who has stolen Reeva’s heart. But Reeva has got some serious misgivings about Kunaal.  He was hired by Thapars and shares a warm relationship, with the head of the political party. Thapar ways are dubious, they want to build biggest entertainment park, with foreign investment. But then nothing comes free in this world, this stands true for foreign investment also. The bone of contempt is the land, which has been allotted for economic weaker section housing society. Ministers, bureaucrats need to be involved, to make the change in land usage. It is not that simple as it sounds, as protecting that land is an activist, who is also the close friend of Reeva. Kunal also has some hidden facts, which if brought to light, can damage the relationship between his and Reeva.
