Let Me Go is written by Shriram Iyer and published by FiNGERPRINT!

This book is a fresh take on friendship. Those who say that a girl and a boy can never be friends, this book is for them. They can be friends, without gender coming in between.

I love the book from the beginning, the simplicity of feelings, the complexities of life, all explained beautifully, in one story.  It has been thoughtfully portrayed, one wrong decision, one wrong event or one wrong person can ruin your life completely. The author has rightly portrayed, many deep aspects of life. The fragility of relationship, when the kids are involved, loneliness, insecurities and many other aspects are highlighted. The story stresses the fact that true friendship, is not dependent on ego. In today’s world forgiveness is a rare virtue, but it is the only thing that saves relations. This book also makes us believe in miracles, a true relationship can bring a person back from death.

Anshuman Kale’s family rent a flat in new locality, the landlord’s daughter Indira, was of Anshuman’s age. They were in same school, a lost school bag, a missed school bus, leading to a walk back home, bring them closer. Pretty soon they become best friends, whom no one can separate. But life is cruel and fate has other plans stored for them.  Indira soon fell for a guy, five years elder to her.  Anshuman never liked the guy from the beginning; this created a rift between the best friends. Due to circumstances, they have to part ways.

After many years, Anshuman was looking forward to marry the love of his life, when he comes to know that Indira has appealed for Euthanasia. Shaken to the core, Anshuman leave for India, to save her dying best friend.

It is not a regular novel, where the plot is predictable. I appreciate the fact that for the first time an author, has respected friendship. He has made friendship the central plot, and other things revolve around them.

Sincere recommendation, please do grab the book.
